Available for Pre-order: Lytro Lightfield Camera

The Lytro 16GB Light Field Camera
To be released in early 2012, the Lytro lightfield camera promises to revolutionize photography as we know it.

Equipped with a constant aperture, f/2.0, 8x zoom lens, the Lytro captures images which can be refocused after they are taken. Without the need to focus or even think about focusing, there’s no shutter lag whatsoever.

Special software, available only for the Mac OS at this time, allows you to import, process and interact with the photos, which are saved as .lfp (light field picture) files approximately 20MB in size.

The 1.61" square by 4.41" long camera features an anodized aluminum exterior with silicone rubber grip and weighs in at less than half a pound. It’s four minimalistic controls are simplicity itself; a power button, shutter button, zoom slider and 1.46 in backlit LCD touchscreen.
