One thing I miss with the Coolpix P5100 is the ability to zoom while tripping the shutter; it simply can’t be done with these autofocus, zoom-by-wire cameras.
But, with the help of the Cokin 185 Radial Zoom filter you can achieve a similar effect. On the other hand, so can Photoshop. But I like the Cokin better.
This effect is not unlike using a Lensbaby for selective focus, only here a sense of movement is present in the out-of-focus areas…a kind of “motion blur”.
