FujiFilm Finepix X100 Sample Images

I just came across these sample images from the forthcoming Fujifilm X100:

You can see the entire gallery of images here.

Available in March, this looks like a promising digital street camera, although somewhat limited by its fixed prime lens. The prime is not the problem; it’s the non-interchangeable part. Had Fujifilm adopted the Micro Four Thirds mount with the APS-C format, we might have been able to use any 25mm MFT lens to achieve a near-perfect 37.5mm focal length, and their own 23mm lens might have made a niche in the MFT market as a super wide-angle 11.5mm. Or perhaps they could simply have created the ultimate MFT format camera with a real optical viewfinder.

I have to set aside a special day to go and see this camera when it comes out. It may just be that its look and feel are so good that I can overlook the functionality of interchangeable lenses.
