D90 Redscale Revisited

Encouraged by the results with the X10, I set out to attempt the same Redscale effect with the D90. And while it’s entirely possible to achieve a similar effect with a 10,000K white balance on the D90, the results are not nearly as pleasing.

For one thing, the effect is not as consistent. But what was really surprising was how the red-skewed images drove the anti-aliasing filter crazy on the D90. It's the first instance I’ve had of serious aliasing artifacts on the D90.

The X10 had none of this, probably due to the drastically different EXR sensor technology. This and the fact that it’s so easy to jump back and forth between normal and Redscale with the custom presets, makes this my go-to digital redscale shooter. with its advanced RAW processing capabilities, you can also apply the same Redscale effect to any Raw capture.
